Savour Food & Wine Show: February 23, 2012
Savour food & wine Festival 2011 was a great success this year in thanks to all of our members who participated. With over 800 attendees visiting over 60 booths it was a great show with overwhelmingly positive comments from all who attended.
For the first year ever we held a Savour food & wine Show in Sydney, Cape Breton at the Membertou Trade & Convention Centre. This show garnered support from 30 restaurateurs and over 300 attendees and again had overwhelmingly positive comments. Make sure you keep your eye out for this great show continuing next year.
As part of the Savour food & wine Festival four evens are held along with other smaller events throughout the province.

Decadence: Chocolate, Wine & Cheese is an evening of pure indulgence with artisanal cheeses and succulent chocolates paired with wines from around the world. The evening begins with raw cheeses paired with wine followed by a finished cheese dish. The second half of the evening is pieces of raw chocolate paired with wine followed by a finished chocolate dish, all prepared by the students of NSCC in the Pastry Arts and Culinary Arts programs under the direction of their Chef Instructors.

Rare & Fine Wine is an evening for the true wine lover. With a selection of over 10 wines all rated 90 points and above by major wine publications you will taste wines never before available in Nova Scotia. Taste beautiful champagnes, Bordeaux and Burgandies, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc's from Riedel glassware while enjoying decadent hors d'oeuvres overlooking Halifax.
One of the highlights of the Savour Food & Wine Festival is Dine Around Nova Scotia! The Dine Around program sees participating restaurants across the province create three-course, prix fixe menus, showcasing an array of Nova Scotia product and creativity.
