PRESS RELEASE
Wines of Nova Scotia Featured at Atlantic Canada House during Vancouver 2010 Olympics
Halifax, N.S. – From February 13 to 28, 2010, visitors from around the world can sample a glass of Nova Scotia wine at the Atlantic Canada House in Vancouver.
“This is a good opportunity for our young and growing wine region to showcase the quality wines being made here,” says Bruce Ewert, owner and winemaker of L’Acadie Vineyards. “It will be new to many people that we have a wine region here…it’s going to layer into all the other positive images they have of Nova Scotia.”
Ewert began his winemaking career in British Columbia and chose Nova Scotia’s Gaspereau Valley to open his winery, L’Acadie Vineyards, in 2008. He will be representing the Winery Association of Nova Scotia (WANS) at Atlantic Canada House for Nova Scotia Day celebrations organized by Nova Scotia Come to Life. Visitors for the Friends and Family Event on February 15, will sample his 2006 Traditional Method Brut and 2008 Sparkling Rosé.
"We are proud to have the world try our wines during the Olympics," says Janice Ruddock, managing director of WANS. "Our participation at Atlantic Canada House shows the quality of our wine is at a world standard."
L’Acadie Vineyards, Sainte-Famille Wines, Benjamin Bridge, Domaine de Grand Pré, Jost Vineyards, Gaspereau Vineyards and Lunenburg County Winery are represented on the Atlantic Canada wine list, as well as at the Friends and Family Come to Life events.
