Celebrate Local Wines During the Nova Scotia Fall Wine Festival
Halifax, N.S. – The fourth annual Nova Scotia Fall Wine Festival launched last week and continues until October 30, 2009. During the two-month-long festival, Nova Scotia winemakers and some of the province’s finest chefs will come together to celebrate their passion for local food and wine.
“This year we have more winery events, more dining events and some great accommodation packages featuring local wines,” says Janice Ruddock, managing director of the Winery Association of Nova Scotia (WANS).”The festival is an opportunity for everyone to celebrate the fall grape harvest…get involved with one of the grape stomps, indulge in an elegant night out at one of our wine dinners, or sign-up for one of the wine education seminars.”
The 2009 festival has a brand new logo as well as a new website, www.nsfallwinefestival.ca, for event information and listings.
“In our fourth year, with so many exciting events taking place, we felt it was important to give the festival its own identity,” says WANS marketing director Doug Townsend. “Also new this year, consumers that have signed-up for our newsletter will receive weekly event updates with great contesting features giving away winemakers’ dinners and event tickets.”
The 2009 Fall Wine Festival features over 55 events taking place across the province. This year nine of Nova Scotia’s wineries are hosting events onsite.
In 2007, the Nova Scotia Fall Wine Festival was named Signature Event of the Year at the annual conference of the Tourism Industry Association of Nova Scotia (TIANS).
