NOVA SCOTIA WINES OF THE MONTH PROGRAM
Jun 1, 2009

Sainte-Famille Wines is offering restaurants in the Halifax, Truro, Bridgewater and Kentville area a Wine of the Month Promotion Program from June 1st to August 31st, 2009, for the 2009 tourism season.

HOW IT WORKS

Participating restaurants can choose one red and one white wine for a month long promotion. At the end of the month you will then have the option of either continuing with those chosen wines or selecting two new ones for the next month. Please note:

  • The promotion applies only to bottled wines. (See the attached wine list of available wines.)
  • Some of the wines from last year are sold out, but when we release the new vintages – which is expected in mid to late June – we will make them available for this program.

INCENTIVES

This program is a perfect way to let your patrons know that your restaurant supports buying local! But not only are you supporting local growers, there is also a bonus program for your establishment’s servers.

To encourage the servers, Sainte-Famille will rebate $1.00 per bottle sold as a bonus for promoting the featured wines. Just think! If you sell 1 bottle (or 5 glasses) per day, you will earn $30 in a month, plus tips! Everybody is a winner! We sell more wine, the restaurant increases sales, the servers get a bonus, and – most importantly – the customers get to sample some of the best wines Nova Scotia has to offer.

We all know that today's consumer is concerned with drinking and driving and as well their pocket book! Therefore, we strongly encourage you to offer these wines by the glass as well as by the bottle.

POINT OF SALE MATERIAL

We have available attractive Wines of Nova Scotia menu cards that can either be placed on the tables or clipped to your menu, so changing your wine menu is not a problem. You simply change the card as you wish.

TRAINING

We are offering tours of the vineyard and winery, plus training for your staff. In this training we will let you sample the wines and tour the vineyard and winery, giving emphasis on the growing of the grapes and the making of the wine. We will also discuss the pairing of our wines with your menu. Sainte-Famille can provide transportation for those within one hour’s driving time from the winery and is prepared to cover the cost of gas for those driving in from farther destinations.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

The program will run from June 1st to August 31st, 2009. You will not be required to pay for 30 days or until your next order, whichever comes first. During the last week of each month we will confirm your choice of wines for the next month. If you choose to select two new wines, we will issue a credit for any unopened bottles from the previous month. At the end of the promotion any unopened bottles will be returned to Sainte-Famille Wines. And, most importantly, at the end of each month we will issue a rebate cheque for $1.00 per bottle sold by the servers.

If you wish to participate, please call 1-800-565-0993 and speak with Doug or Suzanne Corkum.

At the end of August, Sainte-Famille Wines will be considering a Fall Feature and would appreciate any feedback regarding the summer program, as well as your thoughts on what may be appropriate for a Fall Program.
